Hi forum,
I try to render my lightmaps for a certain scene but now and then there appear some blind spots in the lightmap. I have already disabled filtering, compression and reduced the quality a lot for faster experimentation. Still it looks exactly like this:
It seems like the lightmapper thinks that this area is empty space and therefore fills it up with gray space like in the other empty spaces. Even though it is actually my wall.
Does anybode know what those fragments are and how to get rid of them? I even remodelled the wall entirely and restructured it just to find out, that the effects are still there - on the very same location in 3d space. There is no hidden model there and everything is static.
The strange thing is, when I move something infront of that area, the effect starts to get “absorbed” by the object / here a cube:
