Bloating the head of a character at runtime?

Hi,

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question.

I have a character that I want to “bloat” a particular part of his body at runtime.

Essentially, take a human character and make only his head bigger or just his nose or his feet.

What is the best way to do this at runtime for any part of the mesh (ie head, nose, ears, feet, etc)?

Can you somehow assign a bone in Max to do this with script via bone manipulation?

Yes, bones are transforms, and you can manipulate transform as usual (scale/rotate/move).
