Blue Bird, a Flight Simulator for Google Cardboard

Hey guy’s so about a week ago me and two friends launched our first VR title (and first Android title), Blue Bird for the Google Cardboard, and not for a lack of trying on our end, nobody knows about the game. It was a student project done in about two months and totally free so if you’ve got a Google Cardboard and a bit of free time please check it out. We’re looking for any feedback we can get so if you can please rate and review it as well, this project is mainly a portfolio piece.

You can find the game on the Google Play Store at: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.OriginEnd.BlueBird&hl=en

Looks pretty cool. Great job! This thread doesn’t have a lot of traction so I recommend posting in the Work in Progress thread or others where you think it would be a good fit.

Promoting things on the internet is hard. Try to determine the main thing that would make a user want to play your game. Are they playing to explore a unique world? Are they trying to win, gain a high score, or beat levels?

People have unreasonably high expectations for games. They want to something specific out of any given app that they download (such as prestige, excitement, social activity etc.).

I don’t see a real draw to your game. I don’t really play exploration games so it could just be me.

Anyway, great job. You published a game! That’s a feat that most people will never accomplish. Keep learning and building new things. If you decide to build another game, figure out the main selling point early on in development. Employers love to see little projects like this, so don’t get discouraged that it didn’t gain much crowd appeal.

Best of luck,
Evan
