After connecting my PC and Android device via Bluetooth, I am developing a part within a Unity app that receives sensor and touch information from the Android device on the PC. I am proceeding with the development through interactions with AI, and at this stage, a Bluetooth connection between the Android device and the PC is required.
When I tried to establish a Bluetooth connection, the Android device remains in a “paired” state but does not become active on the PC side. I have uploaded a video of this situation at:
On the PC side, I’m using one desktop and two laptops (all Windows 11), and one laptop (Windows 10).
For Android devices, I’m using three devices: Zenfone 10 (the device shown in the screenshots), HUAWEI Mate 9, and HUAWEI P20 Pro. I have attempted Bluetooth connections between all of them.
Even with all these combinations, they all exhibit the same behavior, ending with just “paired” and not establishing an active Bluetooth connection.
I have tried all the troubleshooting steps listed on other community sites and problem-solving websites, including:
- Re-pairing
- Checking the battery level of Bluetooth devices
- Restarting each device
- Clearing the cache and data of the Bluetooth app
- Checking for system updates on the smartphone
- Checking for updates to the Windows Bluetooth driver
- Checking for radio interference
- Verifying the distance between devices
- Checking compatibility
I’ve done all of these. By the way, the adapter attached to the PC I’m mainly using now is a TP-Link USB Bluetooth 5.3 adapter. I have updated to the latest driver from the official website to operate with Bluetooth 5.3, and I have restarted the PC after updating the driver.
If the issue was found in the result of testing with just one PC and one Android device, I might think it’s a malfunction or defect in one of them. However, since all the above connections show the same phenomenon, I have no idea what to do and am also considering whether the fundamental connection procedure is wrong.
I also tried joining a Personal Area Network (PAN) and connecting via access point and direct connection, but it didn’t work.
By the way, the connection using the Windows 11 Phone Link feature works without any problems, and I can, of course, view photos and so on.
Also, connecting headphones or speakers via Bluetooth with the PC, and connecting the same Bluetooth-connected headphones or speakers from the Android device that are connected to the PC, works without any problems.
Only the PC and Android devices themselves cannot connect properly with each other.
What could be the cause…??
It’s not directly related to Unity, but I would appreciate it if someone could tell me a way to connect the PC and Android devices via Bluetooth.
Thank you very much.
