Hey,
My friend and I have just completed our first game together, we’ve been working on it off and on for a little while between University and work. We’re really pleased with the overall result, I think that a little more polish could of been added but in general it plays how we originally planned and is relatively fun (at least to us). Please let us know what you think, how we can improve or just how much it epically fails if you want too. Its available to play on the web and its a very small loading time (for broadband connections) play it for yourselves, here is the link.
Update: We’ve got some pretty big plans for the game as a whole which involves turning the game we originally released and turning that into a mini-game in a larger game, which is made up of several mini-games much like this one. Hopefully this should be done in June after we’ve completed our exams, so expect some updates over the next few months which should include designs and prototype images of our improved Bob’s Space Crusade. You can also find the source code on my portfolio website which is here; Bob’s Space Crusade Source Code. I’ve also added some version 1 screenshots of the first playable build we released of Bob’s Space Crusade below.

Thanks everyone.
Neat. A few suggestions though: Maybe an indicator during play as to which key corresponds to which rocket, maybe a on-the-fly selection istead of a-s-d bound. And maybe make the game board a bit bigger. On the whole though, not bad for your first game. So congratulations, looking forward to see what you do in the future.
Thanks for the positive comments, the indicator during play would be a neat thing to have I’m not sure why we never thought of that I guess when your that used to what things do what you just expect everyone else to be like that. The game screen was originally intended to be the sort of resolution you’d have on a phone but yeah, that never worked out. Thanks again for the comments.
Just thought I’d update to thread a little bit letting people know that we are planning on updating the game eventually we’ve just both been very busy with University work. We’ve got some pretty big plans for the game as a whole which involves turning the game we originally released and turning that into a mini-game in a larger game, which is made up of several mini-games much like this one. Hopefully this should be done in June after we’ve completed our exams, so expect some updates over the next few months which should include designs and prototype images of our improved Bob’s Space Crusade.
I’d also like to add if anybody is interested I’ve released an earlier version of the source code on my portfolio which you can find here; Bob’s Space Crusade Source. I’d like to add the code is not in a finished state in the solution file there, it is also by no means at an acceptable level for a commercial or even free game and is lacking in many areas particularly documentation. As this was my first big Unity project its not a fair representation of my programming ability either. So in future releases of the source (if there are any) expect a slightly more polished code base.
