Break Force Problems

Hello all:

I am trying to make a joint that breaks with a particular force, such as a ball attached to a ceiling, then breaking when the mass is made heavier (Force from gravity breaking the joint), however I cannot accomplish this, as it takes a very large mass (way above Newtonian physics) to break the joint.

Any feedback or tips on this? I also tried applying x-z direction forces past the joint breaking point and it hasn’t been working either.

This might be a bit late but don’t you have to set the Break Force amount yourself? Look at the Joint and change the Break Force property! I haven’t tried it myself but looking at Unity - Manual: Character Joint component reference it’s what I’d guess.
