Brick Breaker Intergalactic!

Thanks for putting this idea into my head Jean! I finally made a full fledged game out of my Breakout Pro template.

I present to you, Brick Breaker Intergalactic!

It’s currently available on the Google Play store

Thank you John! Really appreciate the kind words.

I’ve noticed a bug with your game: sometimes the Leaderboard is not loading when I see the Game Over screen, but after I click the Retry button, the Leaderboard appears and I can’t hide it anymore. I need to click Pause > Home and restart that level.

I hope you can track this bug and fix it.

Thanks for pointing this out. Do you see this happening regularly? Are you playing over wifi or cellular data? What device are you playing on? I have had reports of issues while using data, but not having data myself it’s been hard to test.

Looks good Graham. Was the intent solely to promote the asset pack, staying within the asset packs built in features/functionality, or did you develop features/elements beyond what is available in the asset pack?

The main reason I ask this is because I think there is some ‘extra’ juice you could add to the game to really push it’s visual appeal.
If you haven’t watched the video ‘the art of screen shake’ I highly recommend it - if you are looking to enhance the game. Most of the elements outlined in that video could be applied to any type of impact in your game, the ball impacting the bricks, the paddle, the walls, etc etc. particles all over - within reason, and essentially pushing the umph! more.

Well done on release.

I was playing on an Android device over wifi.

I like some of the originality in the level design, rotating sections and so on. Colors look good.

I felt it was a shame to not make an actual game out of my asset since the base logic and artwork was already done, so I went ahead and published one. I think it is also good promotion for the template.

Thanks for the video suggestion! Yes I have watched the videos on adding more juice to my games, and over time I’ve been adopting a lot of those methods in my day to day tasks. I have a few screen shakes here and there, but as you said I tried to keep it within reason. I do agree that there could be more juice, but I didn’t have any more time to invest in this particular project.

Again, thanks for the advice!
