Investigation showed -
If you have a crappy connection unity can get stuck on this screen perpetually,
sometime you can get through it, you can disable your connection completely (pull the plug)
and it will launch, SOME TIMES, you can try blocking unity completely from internet with a firewall and then you will see the screen below 100% of the times.
Is that related to the fact that the launcher is written in js? Most probably. (<its a joke)
Anyway thanks for screwing over people with bad internet connections with your shovelware features like all these logins and whatnot i never asked for.

Was this before or after you tried blocking unity from the internet?

It happened BEFORE when i had shitty connection, so i figured i block it completely so that its always offline, but nope, too complicated to simply disable the connection.
And my friend who also lives in a third world hole but on the other side of the planet had the same issue with bad internet connection.
Have you reported a bug?
Also, you could try using version 5.5 if 2017.1 doesn’t work for you.
You should post a link to the bug you filed for this. If you haven’t filed a bug, do you think they are psychics? Even your thread title doesn’t mention your issue.
