I am attempting to use Unity 2019.4 LTS, specifically 2019.4.1f1. There is a bug that while stated as not a regression, it obviously is, as it has been fixed across various versions since 2017.4 for a production use asset from @jbooth_1 .
The response of “RESOLUTION NOTE (FIX VERSION 2020.2) Fixed in 2020.2.0a11” is not a fix. Unity even specifically provides guidance to not utilize Alpha versions for Production projects.
Which version of Unity should I use?
If you are in production or close to release, we recommend the latest LTS release. If you want to use the latest Unity features in your project or are just getting started with production, the TECH stream is recommended.
I am using on of the releases of 2019 that should be receiving bug fixes, including misidentified regressive issues.
I can accept not fixing it and saying you won’t directly, but the response of “use an alpha” is trash especially regarding a production use asset for a regressive issue (you even note it’s present in numerous versions and not others); Unity needs to do better than that.
Sincerely,
Nathaniel
