As posted in the title, updating to Unity 6000.0.30f1 will cause the editor to crash on loading a project or creating a new one.
Workaround: Downgrade to 6000.0.27f1, which doesn’t have that issue.
Reported as IN-90819.
I will investigate further and add any Infos about workarounds.

same problem. and also 6000.1.0.a7,
back to 6000.0.25f1…
Seems like 6000.0.28f1 is the last working version for Xubuntu 24.10. with Xfce.
I have been informed that a fix for this is incoming:

true, however, it’s hard to believe that a software that can’t even start up properly would be released. Hope it doesn’t introduce more bugs… In 2024, Unity is still not very friendly to Linux. 
Yup, getting the same issues on Arch Linux. 6000.0.28f1 works but 29-32 doesn’t work. My Editor log also stops at The selected window backend is (null)
6000.0.33f1 works again for me.
