Horribly messed up. My game Idle Conquest on Kongregate crashes when players try to load it. It’s been doing this all day and we haven’t updated the game in several days so this can’t be anything on our end.
I went through my project file, deleted ALL event triggers, all button components and all slider bar components and the game loaded (with horrible visual glitches though). I have no idea what happened on Unity’s end but can I get some kind of response please? I have a viral game sitting on Kongregate with a bunch of very irritated players (and with good reason). I’d like to know how this can be fixed before my game goes from viral to failure. It’s already lasted all day and Unity has yet to make a single announcement or comment about it anywhere and this has me very concerned and nervous.
I realized it was a beta build but the version I downloaded stated, “Fully tested stable build”, I was allowed to publish to the web and it claims to be a beta and not an alpha. I did put some logical thought behind this before I decided to make a real game with the beta version. Frankly don’t think losing my entire game after it goes viral should be a consequence of using a beta version.
Can I get a response from Unity that gives me some sort of reassurance here? I’ve been using Unity3D all year and really don’t want to have to bail out on something I’m familiar with simply because it can’t be trusted to maintain stability.
