Build issues for Windows 10/Mobile UAP

Hi,

I try to build my project for the Windows Universal Platform (Windows 10 and Windows 10 mobile) but I’ve some issues I can’t solve. I’m running the latest stable build of Windows 10 and I’ve Visual Studio 2015 CE and the Windows 10 SDK.

I’ve generated my project from Unity by choosing C# project / XAML solution. Then I opened the solution with Visual Studio and added the Newtonsoft.Json library with Nuget. Now all seems good but when I try to generate or build the solution, it doesn’t work.

This is the console output when I click on Generate in Visual Studio 2015 => Windows UAP Errors - Pastebin.com

Now this is the console output when I click on Play in Visual Studio 2015 => Unity UAP Error2 - Pastebin.com

It’s maybe not clear, ask me any detail you want please.

It looks like Unity creates a path and project file with spaces, dots etc, but pre-build commands have cleaned paths. Something was fixed in that area, so you might want to try the latest patch release (or even wait for the one to come).

As a woraround, it would probably be easier to set package name and product name in Unity Player Settings to something without spaces or dots, that would generate proper solution.

If you can repraoduce this with our latest patch releases, then I think it’s worth reporting this as a bug.

Hi,

I’ll try the patch release, but I tried to remove spaces in my project and I’ve the same problem Error Windows Store App Unity - Pastebin.com

The patch release is downloading… I hope it’ll be ok  Thanks for your help!

Hey, actually the issue is elsewhere  You probably built your project with Generate C# projects option enabled. So the fix is:

  • Build project without Generate C# projects
    or
    * Update Windows Store Apps Tools to 1.1.1, in Visual Studio 2015 go to Tools->Extensions and Updates->Updates->Check Windows Store Apps Tools to 1.1.1

It works thanks a lot! I have compiled and deployed my game on Windows 10 and Windows 10 mobile (Lumia 640) and it works really well. I’m impressed by the progress that have been done.
