Build to PlayStation Vita
;););)
Moved to the Unit Support forum.
Youâll need the full Unity version (not Pro, but the one that I assume gives you Unityâs source code. My guess is that itâs well over $10k). Youâll also need the PS Vita devkit from Sony, and a Vita development unit. Probably somewhere around the same price range and will only be given away to experienced developers.
So yeah, unless you have around $50k laying around, and a few triple A projects to your name, I really doubt itâs going to happen
Wolfos, Sony is beta testing âPlaystation Suite SDKâ, an SDK where youâre supposed to be able to code for Vita, Xperia play, and other android-based devices, with a (supposedly) affordable entry point (like WP7 or iOS).
Iâm not telling that unity could be possible with that kind of license, but itâs definitively not impossible (for the common peasants like me) to get something done on Vita.
And PS3,Wii~~~
Those targets are already available. Contact sales for pricing.
PS Vita is available??
PSVita SDK is $2000. One would have to think of additional costs. Given what you would have to shell out for UnityPro that is still quite a bit of money.
Vita is not a supported platform at this point, but both PS3 and Wii are.
Any more news on this front, considering the announcement today of PS Vita sdk public beta now available? What is required in order to use Unity to port games to the Vita?
Im interested on this one too. Check out the news
I too am interested in thisâŚ
iOSâŚ
AndroidâŚ
Vita (?)
I am assuming that if Unity is working on this then we can ask till we are blue in the face and they wonât tell us until they are ready for a big announcement⌠but there is no harm in asking anyways
So⌠this is me asking
Are you planning on adding Vita as a target platform now that Sony has made it just as easy to become a developer as Apple has? Heck, they even charge the same fee right down to the $, lol!
Heck, the way I look at it, since they are obviously trying to get as many people as possible to jump on board, unless if they use something that Unity is simply not compatible with (like XNA), is there any reason to believe Unity will not offer it as a build target?
If it is compatible, I think it is safe to assume that Unity will support it.
If Unity will support it then we all know it will cost $500 for a license and $1500 for the same license with 3 extra features added
If Unity will support it then we know that going form Unity to Vita will be relatively straight forward
So the question we all SHOULD be asking right now is: Is this SDK compatible with Unity or not?
For example if I am not mistaken, so far the SDK is for Windows only. Am I correct is saying this? If so, is this going to be an issue?
But either way, I would very much love to know if I can expect Vita support any time soonâŚ
Thanks
No news at this time.
still no news?
PS Mobile launched today and sony claims to have 100 millions users across their 12 PS Certified devices.
Still nothing?
