Building a new network from scratch, open-source style!

Hey guys, I’ve been a contributor here for a while now so I thought I’d share a new project I just started. There is definitely plenty to discuss.

I’m starting an open-source initiative to work on a new networking infrastructure and interface. A network that doesn’t rely on service providers - which in itself has many implications.

Anyway, if you want to read more about it and get involved - head to the website: http://www.chroud.com

Some questions that this brings up:

1.) With the progression of wireless technology like WiMAX that can transfer at very fast rates over miles of distance, can we replace service providers with our own devices?

2.) Can we design a networking infrastructure that utilizes parallel relay - similar to a multi-core processor?

3.) Can we design a better network for future technologies like full-blown cloud computing?

The way to go, Chris ! Wish you a great success
