Building / Executable hangs. Consumes all memory

Ok.

I’ve done quite a bit of lurking, reading everything I could possibly have. I searched countless hours for this issue, and have not come up with an answer.

First off, here are my (rough) system specs.

Intel 2.4ghz 64-bit
2G memory
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS w/ 1G ram
Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit

Now, the strangest thing happens when I try to build my project. Unity displays the window stating it’s doing it’s Level 0 build, but then it sits there forever.

A short while later, my system is super laggy. Upon inspection of my TaskManager, I’ve found that Unity has taken up 1.5g of memory, and it’s still climbing! It’s not doing anything. It’s built before in shorter times, so I don’t understand.

It’s even weirder, when I DO have a fine Executable built, but I run it, and it takes over 1.6g of memory, too, when my total project is less than 90mb, period.

Can anyone explain what this means and how to go about fixing it?

AFAIK, or think, it might be related to resources…maybe.

Hi, welcome to the forum!

Please contact support@unity3d.com about this. There’s a good chance this is simply a bug, but they may be able to help you work around it.

Hey! Thanks for the welcome!

And… thumbs up Sure thing. Emailed Support.

This sounds like a freak thing really. Thanks for the suggestion. If I get a fix, I’ll post it here so other people can, if they get this, find a fix too.
