Building Game - Sharedassets crash [solved]

Hi everyone,
I’ve got a problem with Unity. Everytime I try to build a project for windows unity stops working by ‘Building assets - sharedassets0.assets’. I doesn’t matter if it’s a new clean project or an old one. In both cases there are no duplicat script names like I read in another thread. So what’s the problem?

I’ve tryed the newest version Unity 5.3.1f1 and the version before 5.3.0.

Ok, after deleting everthing manually even from AppData and reinstalling the problem still appears. After beeing very angry I disabled everything which is not necessary on my os. Antivirus and firewall as well. The result is, that my firewall blocked Unity writing ‘sharedassets0.assets’. I don’t know why, but now it works. I wonder why I haven’t had the same problem the versions before.
So everyone with the same problem: check your firewall!

Thank you very much for this.
Unity crashed while building because of this, and recovering the project was time consuming (Unity crashed when opening it, after this impossible building). I found your post just after this, and the problem is now solved, thanks again !

Great, I am very pleased to hear that! You’re welcome!

thank you very much bro!!!. Realy effective solution. thank you!!

I was working on Realistic Car Controller v3.1 asset on Unity Pro 5.5.0f3…RCC v2.8 worked perfectly on Unity 5.3.5 but on this one it was stuck at [Building Player: shaderasset0.asset] for Android Build…So I disabled Avast and it builds perfectly…Thanks a lot Brother…Your post was really helpful

I’m happy to hear that! You’re welcome

Hey I turned of firewall on my win 8.1 but still it freezes at build

Im still having this problem even if i turned off firewall. im using win7 and Unity 5.6f03. it freezes at Packaging Assets : Sharedassets0.assets. Any help?

Same freaking problem, freaking the creep outta me!!! I found questions on the issue like 3 years ago.
WTH, guys?

You must stop the “Windows Firewall” service from the “Control Panel” because the service is still running.

Some people resolve this issue removing the project settings. But you must reconfigure it again later :frowning:

I just had this same problem. Tried the above fix which didn’t help me. I fixed the issues by make some more space on my PC main drive. Hope this might help some in future.

I had the same issue, for me disabling the internet as well as turning off firewall worked.
