Building Games In Unity With Friends Via Server?

Does anyone know of a way to make games with an online server so you can invite friends to help you build a game, and so all of you can see what each other is doing? I f no one know of a way to do this with Unity please direct me to another game engine (If there is one) with this capacity.

there are some,

(never tried either, so not sure how well it works…)

Standard version control systems like git work to, although it’s not real time.

Research version control

Only true game engine solution I’m aware of is Scene Fusion and it’s only available for Unity. Up to two people developing at the same time it’s completely free, but once you go beyond that the price is $15 per concurrent developer.

Other than that your only choice is Second Life. It’s not an actual game development engine but it’s the only solution for a larger party that doesn’t require a sizeable monthly investment. If you’re doing this on a hobbyist level this may be the best choice.
