Hello, I have very recently got into unity and i am trying to create a building with windows but how would i make the cut out sort of thing. Its quite hard to explain but hopefully you know what i mean because i have one side done but how would i duplicate that on the other sides? Many thanks.
Hmm, it sounds like maybe you’re asking how to manipulate objects in the Unity scene editor — duplicate them, group them, move 'em around.
I would recommend this part of the manual, and these tutorials.
Thanks Allot.
It looks like that’s just a set of primitive cubes you’re stacking, too? If you want to make a building the way the pros do it, you’d create the model in a 3D modeling application and import it into Unity. Blender is a really good free one that I’m quite fond of.
I just want to say that you might think i am to dramatic but just doing a simple snap is the most stressful thing i have ever done in my life i almost just smashed my PC. I have used blender i have used unity it self i set the snap settings to 0.25,0.01,0.001 everything. I am new to unity and i know i still have a lot to learn but if someone could please send me a video tutorial or something i will forever praise you. Thanks.
What do you need help with, specifically? Snapping? Creating basic building meshes? Or bringing those into Unity?
Snapping please.
Vertex snapping in Unity is a cinch. Just hold down the V key then drag an object from the corner you want to be snapped to where you want it to snap to.
Thank you so much you are my new best friend now.
Well the official tutorials should be your real best friend. But thanks, and you’re welcome.
