Hello. I can’t get anything at all to happen on builds, either created by me or that I downloaded from this forum. I’m using Ubuntu 13.04. I’m very new to Linux but I’d like to be able to release games for it hence I’m trying to learn. Other software appears to work fine on my installation, including Blender3d and games made with other software, like GameMaker. LMMS also works fine(so I don’t think it is a sound type issue). At first, I would get an error about it not knowing what to do with the executable file format, but after googling it, I figured out that I had to give it permission first, and was able to do so with a simple properties check mark box. Also, I tried to google my problem but it brought up too many results on the Desktop instead of the game engine(“Unity” and “Unity3d” both).
I don’t know Linux so I don’t really know what could be wrong, and I don’t know what to even try to get it to work. Anything else I manually install/download, I just have to set the permission and doubleclick the file and it works. But any Unity-made game I double click and it does absolutely nothing, at least as far as I know. I don’t see any window trying to pop up or anything. I don’t know how to check the “Task Manager” in Linux assuming it exists, or I could confirm that there is/isn’t a process at the least starting.
Any ideas guys? Thanks in advance.
