ok, so while I’m a humble indie game dev here at night, my day job is a little more … corporate. I’m at a conference this week, where I ran into a COO of a company this morning who’s looking to license some cartoon like zombie characters for use on their products. I pinged Mika mobile first and they’re not interested, so I thought I’d throw this open to the community. Does anyone have, or know someone who has some zombie characters (fit for use on kids products) they’d like to license?
Just to avoid any miss understandings… I’m not in this deal other than to hook some folks up (unless you think I could help). My business with this company is along a separate track, and actually would likely be a conflict of interest for me to do any more than exchange some contact info, make the introductions and move on.
While I’m not sure what the company will take, I will say a published game will likely be a requirement (and certainly be relative to how much money they’ll pay for licensing). These folks are not indie anything, you will need a lawyer to go through contract negotiations with them (they’re ok to talk with, but then I’m a senior manager in my company with millions on the line during my discussions with them, so they probably talk nice to me… they do seem genuine, but they’re not stupid. They’ll do an evaluation of your character’s worth, including popularity of your game. I could guess at numbers, but they’d be a guess. Let’s say Zombieville USA will command more than a game rated 210, 998 in the iTunes store 
They’re after Rovio as well (but then who isn’t these days?). So it’s possible that other, non-zombie, but relatively successful characters/games suitable for a young kids audience might also be considered.
Anyway, let me know. Could be some much needed funding for someone looking to pull off another project
