Since I want to utilize the current holiday rebate as much as possible (how flagrantly  ) I came up with the idea of basically buying Indie and Pro seperately right now and activating just Indie for now, putting Pro aside to activate or refund some time later depending on whether I like Unity or not
So is there actually any restricted activation and/or refund period?
Personally, I wouldn’t worry … if you’ve already purchased Pro, it’s unlikely that you will ever want to give it back … so, go right ahead and get it
/me is getting Unity iPhone Advanced … um … I guess tomorrow … as my favorite x-mas present for myself
Omar: I guess I’ll be happy with unity (Indie or Pro) anyway but my question was in fact if I’d actually be allowed to sort of cheat on Pro’s price tag.
Jashan: Hopefully I’m gonna get unity (whatever version) by tomorrow too but I’ve first got to convince my parents :?
Our general refund policy is that they are only allowed until you actually install and activate the license, after that it takes extreme circumstances to get a refund. With that in mind, buying now and sitting on it for a “long” time is just not the way to go. Is one month “too long”? Probably not, but going beyond one month without installing and then asking for a refund is seriously pushing it. The point of the refund is for folks to use the rebate to buy now (by end of month), not skirt the spirit of the discount and cause unnecessary bookkeeping hassles on our end.
So play it nice m’kay?
And yes, writing sales@unity3d.com is the way to request a refund, even though it will ultimately land on my plate to process (do not contact me directly! write sales@unity3d.com please).
