Buying Unity, but demo crashes

Recently I submitted a bug report that Unity doesn’t open every time. I’m planning to buy Unity in the next few days. Should I wait until the bug is fixed and Unity 1.6.1 is released? Or download a new Unity app, and then buy it?

I wouldn’t buy it until it works for you reliably. You should be able to get things sorted out pretty quickly if you email OTEE support about it, though.

What system do you have, and are you using any origional artwork?
Sometimes I have to i d. problem files and remove them first…Not often though.
It should work for you I reckon. Sometimes it takes a while to open. My Oasis project takes a minute or so…

It just doesn’t open. OTEE says they are aware of the problem (maybe it has happened with other users?) and they will be fixing it in 1.6.1. So, I don’t think it’s any thing specific with me.

Btw, I’m on a Intel MacBook

We are indeed aware of it and are working on it. Very few systems exhibit it, but we found one that did. A copy of the complete hard drive of has been shipped to the US for diagnosticts (the first one was lost by UPS - argh).

So yeah, we’re on it. I’m really sorry that we haven’t been able to resolve this sooner, but help IS on the way.

Please, don’t feel sorry, I’m not a “loyal paying customer” yet (but will be!).
I probably should mention I was looking through the contents of the app earlier that daym and I copied the version of Mono Unity was using to take a look at it. But I hadn’t removed anything. Sorry I didn’t mention this earlier. It hadn’t occured to me until now…

Any update on this? I would like to use that nice coupon I recieved in the mail before the time is up :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s gonna be fixed with 1.6.1. I really can’t do more than that.
I can’t see why you shouldn’t buy it, but then again i am probably as biased as it’s gonna get in that regard. :slight_smile:
