[C#] A* inplementation for "X-Y" 2D games

I’m currently trying to add a very basic AI, but I’ve stumbled upon a problem.

The (begginer) resources I’ve consulted are geared towards “X-Z” games, so they assume the NPC’s size is smaller or equal to 1 node. In this case, however, height actually matters. ¿What steps do I need to take in order to make the algorithm consider the NPC’s height?

Depending on your needs, there may be simpler approaches. For example: If you just need to ignore nodes underneath short objects, you could explicitly remove those nodes (or assign very high costs to them).
