ca i sell my unity game

i followed a tutorial on youtube and made a game with unity i made changes but copied the code myself so can i sell it or not ? thanks

It depends on the code you’ve copied, as well as whether or not you’re giving credit.

As long as you ain’t selling the code then I guess it’s Okay.

If you’re talking about using the included Unity assets, those are free to use and sell in any game you publish with Unity. (At least, they were last time I heard) If you were a shitty person, you could take an example project, rename it, and submit it to the App Store for $.99, and UT would not sue you. (It’s been awhile since I’ve heard about this, so if that policy has changed, someone should certainly correct me on that.)

If you’re talking about copying code from elsewhere, then you’ll have to ask whoever you copied it from. More often than not, people who publish their code expect it’ll be used, but look wherever you got it for a copyright notice (e.g. “This code is given under XYZ license and is free to use as long as conditions A, B, and C are met”, or whatever).

ok thanks guys you are incredibly helpful
