If you have the Pro version of Unity, you can call routines written in Objective-C using the plug-in system.
Hi andeeee
I want to be able to call unity 3D functions through “Objective C”
is that possible to do?
thanks
No
you can only expose Obj C as plugin to Unity, but you can not use unity from the outside. Unity is no engine or framework that you can use as part of your app code
OK
is there an other way we can do this i mean using “PIPE” concept or IPC ?
that i can communicate with unity.
thanks.
Through NSUserDefaults ↔ PlayerPrefs
But other than that, no.
The idea of the plugin support is to extend unity. There is no functionality to (miss)use unity as “rendering backend” of something else
OK
thanks for the help.
I’m assuming based on all the mention of Objective-C that you’re doing iPhone work and as such will move this to the appropriate forum (iPhone Development).
Hi HiggyB
are you suggesting that i post this query in the (iPhone Development)forum ?
thanks
Hi HiggyB
i have re posted the same query in the (iPhone development) forum
Nope, he was suggesting that he would move it, which he has. You don’t want to start duplicate topics.

I’ve deleted the redundant post.
