Camera Animation - Camera moves too far?

Hello community!

I have a problem and I am not sure how to solve it smoothly without loads of “camera vibrating”.
I have a animation where the camera moves to an object, shows the object for a moment and then moves back to the player.
Four positions (with rotation), so I naturally set four keyframes: start, beginning view on object, ending view on object, return.
Start and return both have the same coordinates regarding position and rotation. Begin and end have same rotation, end has a slightly different position (it’s supposed to slowly zoom towards the object before returning to the character).

But whenever I play the animation, the camera moves perfectly to begin, but then shoots way over it and THEN moves to the end and from there animates perfectly to the return.

Is there any way to avoid that?
I tried with setting additional keyframes that all moved back to the original position, but that only makes the camera ‘shiver’ since it apparently still attempts to make that curve.

I would really appreciate help with this.
Thanks in advance!

I’m sure you already figured this out since it’s been over a month, but just in case, in the animation window there is an option (can’t remember at the moment) I believe near the record button where you can change the key interpolation.
I believe you want to select linear interpolation.
Sorry my suggestions are vague - I’ve been in photoshop and 3D Max for nearly 2 months straight.

You can find it straight away by checking the documentation for keyframe interpolation.
