Hey, i am sorry if this has been answered before. I am using the smoothfollow script to follow my object. But rather than it moving exactly with the object, i want it to be more like the camera used in “Corky” ([http://www.cordythegame.com/](http://www.cordythegame.com/)), the way it delays before catching up, if you know what I mean.
Thanks in advanced

Check out the Lerpz tutorial; the camera movement in that has damping applied (I don’t know if it’s exactly what you want, but it’ll show you how to achieve the effect).

Thanks for the quick reply. I just tried what you suggested and I now am using the ThhirdPersonController and the SpringFollowCamera scripts. But i cannot figure out how to get my character moving again. Any ideas?

Follow the tutorial? 😉 You probably missed a step in hooking things up, but it’s difficult to know what step since you didn’t describe what you actually did.

So I figured the problem out, for some reason i forgot to tag the camera as MainCamera haha. So I got the camera and controlls working, but what I am trying to do is make the camera look at the character from one side, but still with some horizontal rotation (I am making a 3D side scroller, like LBP). and for the controls i want to be able to go forwards and backwards (left and right across the screen) throughout the level. And like LBP, i want the movement in the other directions (closer and further from the screen) to be on a grid, if you know what I am getting at.

In that case, I’d suggest the 2d Platformer tutorial 🙂

Well now we’re getting somewhere. I have set up the camera following the 2d tutorial like you suggested (I thought I had already gone through taht, I guess I am thining of a different one). Whats left for me to do is figure out how I can have the camera on a tilt so I am not looking directly horizontally at the character, and more importantly, set up the controls so I can move the character on the z-axis as well, but on a grid of three. Any ideas on that?

Not sure what you mean by a grid of three, but all the camera movement/positioning is controlled by one script if I remember the tutorial correctly (it’s been a while) so you should just need to tweak that…

What I mean by grid is the way a character moves on the z-axis in LittleBigPlanet, if youve played that before.
