camera jitter problem in newest version of unity?

today I upgraded unity from version 4.6 to 2020.2.1f1 personal.

I immediately noticed movement jitter. when making a quick new game and in importing my other projects.

to narrow the problem, i started with a new empty test scene.
I added one plane under the camera with a simple texture.

i added this script to the camera and i’m still getting fairly heavy camera jitter in the editor and in the build.

there are no rigidbodys or colliders or other scripts in the scene.

I think you should use FixedUpdate method other than Update. If it does’nt work then use LateUpdate as the “Camera” will move after it has rendered everything because “LateUpdate” runs after everything is Updated. And “FixedUpdate” uses the Physics Engine and it is not running every frame but it is running every physics frame which means it runs whenever the Physics is Updated. So use either FixedUpdate or LateUpdate.
