I have a character made in blender with 49k poly’s and it has movement animations(also on 49k poly) is it too much detailed for a game character model?
What happens when you put it into your game?
A stress test under your target conditions on target hardware will tell you far more then we can.
Not enough information. The biggest thing is what else is going to be in the game? How many of those models are going to be on the screen at the same time?
Someone can call me out if I am wrong, but in my opinion, the poly count of an individual item is a pretty meaningless thing to worry about, what matters more is the scene view, and for a scene you are talking about 3-5M tris before you have issues assuming clean coding and a moderate amount of other stuff going on. And obviously platform and targeted specs factor into that.
Another thing in this regard is that much of what is written regarding ´recommendations´ was written years ago and pure computing power makes them pretty meaningless in just a year or two. In the recent past, I think tri counts have become significantly less important than draw calls anyway.
k den
So your own reply is the dismal “k den” ? That’s pretty immature.
