I have 2 characters, using the same skeleton (Maya generic human IK) and the same animations.
The first one have a jacket (skinmesh). and i want to use the same jacket on the second one. is this possible ? and How ?

Character Andy has a body, and has a jacket. Both meshes were designed for the skeleton of Andy.
Character Alex has a body but has no jacket. Alex’s body was designed for the skeleton of Alex. Alex’s skeleton is an exact copy of Andy’s skeleton. Alex looks just like Andy except he has a beard and brown hair.
Character Betty has a body but has no jacket. Betty’s body was designed for the skeleton of Betty.
Betty’s skeleton has the same names for all her bones, but some bones are slightly longer or shorter or in different positions.
With Mecanim, you can apply the same humanoid action to Andy and Alex and Betty.
Alex can probably wear Andy’s jacket without problems. They have the same arm length, chest size, and so on. The jacket will probably fit.
However, Betty will probably not be able to wear Andy’s jacket. Her arms are too short, or her chest is too big, and it will not fit properly.
