Can DeleD created levels be imported?

Hi all,
I’ve been messing, on and off, with game engines for a while now and always tried to do too much at once.

I figured this time I’m going to start and focus on learning how to make content first, then learn the engine.

Because I’m restricted on time (wife, job 3 year old) I don’t want to spend a TON of money on software like Modo, 3DS Max, Maya, etc… until I’m more proficient and can actual make something from start to finish.

I’ve been looking at low-cost software to create the levels and came across DeleD.

It looks nice, but I don’t have any idea if it can be brought in to Unity or not.
Does anyone have experience with this software and Unity.

Also, does anyone have any other low-cost suggestions of something I can use for the level design, UV, lightmaps, etc… in Windows?

Most of the info I find is on Modo/3DS Max Maya.

I’ve also messed with Blender a bit and it’s just not clicking, but if that’s a better option I’ll start putting more effort into it.

Thanks so much for any info!

If it can export to .fbx, then yes. Also .obj will work for models with no animation. However, something like Blender is more convenient, since you can keep files in their native format, which means instant automatic updating, and no need for the import/export process. (Keeping in mind that .fbx exporting is still necessary; it’s just handled for you invisibly.)
