I’m using the new Unity splines tool. I could have sworn there was an easy way to shift-click / control-click on a spline to add a new knot directly to a segment. I can’t figure out how to do this, do I really have to go into the Draw Splines workflow to add a new knot to the middle of a segment?
Been looking for hours. It seems this is not possible, for some reason.
My god no one answers this simple but frequent question? I’m looking too. Can’t believe it’s this hard to find such a basic answer…
As far as I know this isn’t supported. Here’s a mod I made tho:
Actually it’s cumbersome to me, but I figured out how to do it. When you create your spline and click on the spline and hit the element inspector (top button the the same vertical icon bar that has move and rotate and scale icons), in the inspector you get a spline container and an array of knot points within that. If you then click a knot point either in the inspector array or in the scene, and then scroll to the bottom of the array at the bottom left like any other inspector array, you get the plus and minus to add array elements. If you hit the plus you will get a new spline knot between the one you had selected and the next higher knot in the index. Once you have a new knot, like any other you can select it in the scene, move it around, or delete as with any other knot. You can also delete a knot by hitting the little minus instead of the plus in the inspector.
