I want to buy “Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024” and I’m asking me, if can I do everthing what I can do in “Adobe Photoshop CS2”.
Probably yes. Why would they remove features?
I’ve probably been using photoshop over 15 years now and can’t think of a feature I used having been strictly removed. Sure things move around or change, but it’s in there somewhere.
A better question is, what are you looking to do with Photoshop, and is there a cheaper/better option potentially? Photoshop is definitely the best image editing tool out there, but there are definitely better painting tools for example.

What for cheap better alternative do you know? I like Photoshop very much and the Elements 2024 cost only 50-80€.

That said I didn’t realise they were offering non-subscription Photoshop options agian.

I want to create or edit 2D-sprites.
Pixel art or something more high-detail?
For pixel art Aseprite is the go-to program, and much cheaper than Photoshop while also getting all ongoing updates.
For painting there’s tons of tools out there, Krita being a good and completely free option.

Both pixelart (16-bit pixelart) and middle detail.
What I find very interesting in Adobe Photoshop Elements 2024 are the AI functions.
Good alternative to Photoshop and free is online Photopea.
Then you have Krita. Also has some AI plugins.
And gimp. The last one is very cumbersome for use, so I barely use it.
