Can I get the current speed of a first person controller from the CharacterMotor?

I would like to see the speed of my character currently, independent of direction, just the speed (ie not velocity).
Is this possible? Thank you

If you are getting velocity, you can just get its magnitude and that will be speed.

Maybe you got the same issue I experienced some time ago and velocity was no help to it. A custom solution had to be implemented, see:

Thank you!!!

Actually is easy. Convert the velocity to local space and you will have the speed in the z axis.
playerTransform.InverseTransformDirection(motor.movement.velocity);
