I am looking for a game engine to build a 3D application for a client. The problem is that this client refuses to use anything other than Flash Player and JavaScript to interact with this application. I was wondering if something made in unity can be played in a flash player? If no does anyone have a thought on how to accomplish what I'm trying to do?....Thanks in advance for the help.
No, you can't play Unity content with the Flash player. Both Flash content and Unity content each require their own player plug-in. It's a common problem for Unity developers - having clients hesitant or reluctant to choose Unity for projects - because it's such a new and relatively unknown technology, when compared with with Flash's pervasiveness and its recognisable brand.
This situation is changing, and Unity is picking up the pace in terms of plug-in penetration and brand recognition, however in the meantime - if there's any chance of swaying your client - there are certain ways to explain why they might want to use Unity over Flash, and I have compiled a few of these as questions on this site:
Unity has an upcoming Flash export option that you can read more about here.
unity needs it's own plugin to play games on the web. to create 3D apps in flash you need to use papervision. the quality is much different. why does your client want this? if you are allowed to use shockwave player you can use adobe director but again quality is stupid there. if you need any more help or need help in unity development just drop me an email at ashkan_gc@yahoo.com i am available for contract work too.
