Can I run unity on a chrome book?

my Chromebook can run Linux I have another laptop but I want to start developing with a friend and he doesn’t have a laptop, i have my old Chromebook and i have a Linux system running on it. I know unity is supported on Linux but I’m not 100% sure that it could handle it. I’ll end up testing it eventually, I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this.

Depends on the actual hardware specs of your device. But many Chromebooks are very low spec, so don’t be surprised if it runs like garbage if it launches at all.

I’ll clarify this even further because even the higher spec Chromebooks are woefully underpowered if you want to do anything at all.

The real answer is “no, not if you want to get any work done.”

You always can if you have no other options, I did do work on woefully underpowered pc before, but you will have to be a tinkerer and have to juggle quite a bit, and you will be limited by low spec project, and would have to avoid some function (no light baking that’s dead, in fact no pbr material, switch to unlit asap).

What’s the model of the Chromebook?
