Can I start making games even though I cannot draw?

Will I really want to start making my first game but the problem is i can’t draw so i want an honest answer

Beethoven became deaf, but a great composer. So, why not!?

Graphical work is just a small part of the whole process. I guess, you will reach your borders before ‘I cannot draw’ becomes an issue. A game project is more some sort of a study then producing work.

You seem to have confused the jobs of “game developer” and “artist”. Yes, games have graphics. They also have music, sound effects, narrative, dialogue, interfaces, puzzles, mechanics, characters, physics simulations, reward systems, item and inventory management…

Of course it helps if you have skill in designing at least some of those assets but “being able to draw” is pretty insignificant.

I would think about what it is in game development that draws you to it – what do you love doing?

As an example, do you like programming and unraveling the functionality of a game? Or perhaps is programming too tedious for you? Maybe you really like bringing life to characters through rigging and animation, or creating the environment with level design.

There’s a lot of parts to game development that are very different, and personally, 3D Modeling is easier for me than drawing haha, but I still try my best with what I can do when it comes to drawing. I don’t know if I went kind of off topic but I hope this helps you at least. Best of luck to you with games, they’re really awesome!
