Can I use 3Dconnexion Devices (Spacepilot Pro or SpaceMouse) with Unity?

My son is using Unity for 3D gaming development. I have an old “3D mouse” called the SpacePilot Pro by 3Dconnexion. It’s not a current product but the current products are very similar called the SpaceMouse (SpaceMouse product line by 3Dconnexion)

There is a 3Dconnexion Unity driver on the Unity asset store:

So I wondering if anyone has any experience using 3Dconnexion devices with Unity? These products are great for 3D CAD so I thought this might be good for Unity.

All I know is that that asset package on the store worked when I tested it with the basic SpaceMouse Compact, in some ‘current’ version I cant remember, probably a 2019. No idea if it’ll work with legacy 3Dconnexion devices, though.
Havent used it for anything specific in Unity though.

Yeah, quick check, it works in current 2019 version, throws one warning. Basic speed setting probably need tweaked a bit, feels a bit ‘fast’

Old thread, sorry for necro, but I found it while googling. For those who follow in my steps - seems that now there is official support for unity from 3dconnexcion: 3Dconnexion Plugin for Unity3D is not loading • 3Dconnexion UK

The thing is you don’t have to download any extra packages from Unity Asset Store (that hasn’t been updated for 7 years). 3dconnexion comes with it’s own official package and official support. Which is way better than the asset store package too.

Was anyone successfull with running Space Mouse with Unity on Mac OS?
