You can use a basic hosting plan to host your webplayer, and so your game, that is okay if your game is single player.
If your game is multiplayer, you will need to host your own Master Server or your custom implementation of a server… wich will require at least a virtual hosting plan

There aren’t that many game latency oriented VPS / Dedicated hosters.

If you don’t use DirectAdmin/cPanel, that’s $11/mo for a VPS. I have a VPS with PhotonVPS, they’re really reliable and the connectivity to the server (especially in most US locations) is quite top notch.
e.g. I’m running a Killing Floor server on my VPS. I live in NZ on an unlimited throttled connection and get 140 ping to my server. Americans who play on it get between 30 and 50 ping.
They aren’t lying about their servers being on a full fiber connection.
