can I use monodevelop for commercial use?

Here’s saying visual studio can’t be used for business purposes:

if monodevelop doesn’t either, I’ll give up the unity unhappily

MonoDevelop is no longer officially supported by Unity.

The ‘Visual Studio Tools for Unity’ terms seem standard to me. Which part of the license are you referring to ?

Visual Studio Community is free to use for small teams of 5 or less(concurrently). More than that or if the business is considered an enterprise then you will need to pay.

Edit: You can use any editor you like with Unity, so don’t worry so much about it.

From Microsoft…

Visual Studio Community License Terms

Individual License
If you are an individual working on your own applications to sell or for any other purpose, you may use the software to develop and test those applications.

thanks for the answers but on the link that I put is saying in 2-scope of license:
You may not

  • work around any technical limitations in the software;
  • reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except and only to the extent: (i) permitted by applicable law, despite this limitation; or (ii) required to debug changes to any libraries licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License which are included with and linked to by the software;
  • make more copies of the software than specified in this agreement or allowed by applicable law, despite this limitation;
  • publish the software for others to copy;
  • rent, lease or lend the software;
  • transfer the software or this agreement to any third party; or
  • use the software for commercial software hosting services.

I don’t understand that

Basically creating an internet service that hosts Visual Studio use for a fee. That would make you a direct competitor of Microsoft using there own software.

Thank you,
I do not speak english very well
, and it all complicated my
mind.
You can not imagine
how I got calm now!
