I was having an issue earlier where I was not able to resize my windows in Unity, because it would cause my computer to crash. For some reason I was able to move some stuff around, and just when it was about to be to my liking, all the windows jumped out of the main unity window and I could not snap them back in, so it was like I had 4 separate windows and one window with all the file menu stuff. So, I figured it wouldn’t hurt anything to hit the “return to factory settings” button on the viewport menu. Sure enough it crashed, but now everytime I try to load up Unity, it reloads the factory settings for the windows then just crashes my computer.
Apparantly the windows weren’t the only thing crashing my computer, It also crashed when I hit the “turn off skyboxes, ect.” button on the scene menu, occasionally when I was dragging an object, and of course resetting the windows to factory settings (which this is the only time it keeps resetting to factory settings, when I’ve hit it in the past sometimes it would work, sometimes it would crash, but it would always go back to where it was before I hit that button.)
I’ve tried uninstalling Unity and Re-Installing Unity, but I’m lost as far as what else I could do. Is there a file that has all the window information either in the unity folders, somewhere on a specific location on the harddrive or in the registry? Other than this, Unity has been running perfectly fine, its rarely ever slow, and It’s able to run everything else with no problems. This just baffles me.
