Hello!
I have looked up tutorials and the manual and I am not quite sure what I am doing wrong. I have dragged a mesh into the scene and selected it in the Hierarchy. I open the Probuilder Window but Probuilderize is grayed out and I can not get it to activate (the button remains grayed out). Is there anything I need to watch out for?
Thanks!
Edit: Is it possible that Probuilder does not work with Skinned Meshes?
Are you using the object selection tool? (and not face, node, or vert selection). If you have the object selected with just face selection, then “probuilderize” will indeed be grayed out.
Thanks for the reply! Yes, I have it selected in object selection mode. Probuilderize works on other (static) objects in the scene, just not on skinned meshes, it seems. But I may be missing something, or maybe there is some sort of workaround?
“…I think you should be able to create a new GameObject, attach a MeshFilter, then manually set the Mesh to that skinned mesh which would then be ProBuilder-izable.” http://www.procore3d.com/forum/topic/1370-skinned-mesh/
It looks like you don’t have a game object selected in your screenshot. This is why the button is greyed out.
In the hierarchy window to the far left, you can select the object you want to probuilderize. When the object is selected by clicking on it once, the option to probuilderize will become available. This is assuming that the game object(s) are not already probuilderized.
The probuilderize functionality works on selected game objects and not the entire scene without anything selected.
In case anybody is wondering, it is not advisable to try and probuilderize everything at once for anything other than a tiny scene scene.
