I’m a student so I can’t spend a lot of money on a graphics card, and I was thinking about buying a used one in the range of 50€ (yes, that low) but I don’t wanna end up with a card that’s incompatible with unity like my current 9500 GT is. I can’t even run simple ground and cube without major lag lol. Thanks in advance.
I’d not buy used if you can’t afford it turning out to be a defect card. Didn’t have much luck with used hardware myself…
Also if you have that low-end of a GPU maybe the CPU in your computer isn’t up to the task either.
What country are you in? It’ll help trying to narrow down prices.
There’s a refurb GT 740 on NewEgg for $49: Not Found: 404 Error
It’s still pretty shabby compared to most GPUs but I’m not sure you can do better for under $50 bucks.
I just replaced my perfectly working msi 580 gtx with a newer one. Its an awesome card working perfectly with unity. If you are interested pm me.
My CPU is an i7@2.8GHz so it should be fine.
Just tested turning off shadows in unity and the program runs smoothly now, but prob not for long. Will a new card for 50€ be enough?
