Can' open Unity!

Hi.

I’ve tried to install Unity recently it installs fine but when I try to open it, it crashes.
I’ve tried to run as admin - in windows xp vista.
BTW i also tried to install it on my old laptop it can’t run it without lag, but it can open it and it works

What are your system specs in full? Might help someone know what’s going on. Also make sure you let it access the net, so it can be authorized.

Unity crashes before the register window opens. And yes i’m on the internet.

check your sercurity software if it potentially kills unity or more precisely mono.exe
I know Comodo does that until you tell it to get its fingers of it.

also add the other relevant exes to the trusted list afterwards like the shaderfixor or it will crash pretty fast again :slight_smile:

Well, i uninstalled AVG and same things happens

maybe you have other programs on the computer that are affecting it ? maybe there is something already in your path where you want to install unity into ? eg. C:/Program Files (86x)/unity 2.6/
… like a folder already there with files already there

When I reinstalled my windows, I had the same problem.
After installing all the windows updates, it worked again.
