Can someone confirm if this installs and works on Windows 8

Someone downloaded my game and told me it doesn’t work on Windows 8.
Unfortunately they didn’t provide any more details.

Can someone download and install if you have Windows 8 and let me know if you get any error messages?
It’s a 172MB download.

Your web .aspx page redirects to the .exe fine. But upon selecting “run” (rather than “save”) windows 8 gives:

“Windows Smart Screen prevented an unrecognized application from starting. Running this application might put you PC at risk.”

The user would have to press “more info” to install. (which will certainly no happen much)

I think you might be able to solve it at startcom.org

Can you click more info and then click ‘Run Anyway’ ?

EDIT : So it seems this SmartScreen is going to try to prevent you from running unknown apps, and one of those settings most people will end up turning off.

I’ll see if I can get a certificate that prevents this.

Can somebody still click run anyway and let me know if there are still issues?

It installs but then doesn’t work

Is that when you try to run the installer? Or when you try to run the actual game after it is installed?

It installs fine. The error appears when I start the game.

PS
If I launch it in Windows 7 compatibility mode it runs fine.

PPS
The phrase “Current Windows Version “Windows 98 SE” does not support!” sounds incorrect to me, though I’m not an English language expert.
