Can someone test this image on their computer?

I have an image I’m trying to upload into Unity. It’s 2048x1024 and is very crisp in all of the windows editors I use. However, when imported into Unity, it turns to shit. I’ve already gone through a lengthy forum post about fixes for this and the Unity team basically did nothing for me (they told me they tested it on different devices and it looked blurry. It is clearly an import problem, and yet the tested it like it was a build problem.) when I filed a bug report, so I don’t need people offering fixes on the Unity side.

I was hoping some art savvy people could download this, import it into their Unity, and tell me if it looks crisp on your screen. If not, are there any export settings that should be checked in Photoshop to make sure it will import properly?

I’ve basically exhausted all of my options on my side and have become extremely frustrated with Unity and the support team. There is nothing wrong with my file and yet it won’t import properly. I’m really hoping someone will help me out here. I’ve got a lot of these pieces of art and I can’t have them looking like shit in my game…

The first file is the image itself and the second file is the one time I got the image to look 100% crisp in the Unity editor (to prove it IS possible). Help me Obi-wan Kenobi, you’re my only hope!

EDIT: Ok well this is really dumb and I’m really surprised out of all the help I got before and the help I got from Unity, that this never came up…

The artist at the game company I primarily work for told me it looked like I was losing a level of detail. So I cut my texture into 1/4ths and imported it in. Low and behold, all the detail came back… Of course I figure this out AFTER creating a new post on the matter -.-.

I guess Android Unity Editor only supports 1024x512 as the max texture size? Something I wish was noted in the editor… They really shouldn’t let you go up to 2048 if it’s not supported. And shame on the Unity support team for not immediately noticing that.

Your conclusion is false. Here’s your problem (Insert Android where Standalone is):

Yeah stop yelling “shame on unity” when the problem is between keyboard and chair.
