I quite fancy playing a stardgey game. ![]()
Still if you mean a on-line strategy game yes it should be possible, although you might want to start of smaller to start with.
I’m guessing that Amit is likely ESL, so go easy.
Yes, you can build an online strategy game, whether real-time or turn-based, web-centric, LAN, etc. You would have to make your own matchmaking server if you wish to support Internet play.
Still have to write better topic names than “question”.
Yes you can! Unity can make any kind of game you desire. Just start out small though, tackle the basics with some trivial games/demos and then once you get the swing of things start work on your big project. Best to learn all the little things before you get neck deep into development.
Also, please try and use more descriptive topic titles so we can have a better idea of how to assist you before we open the thread. ![]()
Yes, definitely. I really dislike vague topic names. The kvetching about poor grammar distracted me from the lazy subject line. Maybe he is just lazy and not ESL, that would be sad.
unity can make any type of games except for rts, sorry ![]()
unity can make any type of games except for rts, sorry
Now that’s just plain mean!
Of course, you can do a RTS-game using unity. But you need very good programming skills, because you have to implement pathfinding, AI, group movement etc by your own. I tried it myself some time ago, but I did not find a good solution for avoiding collisions of moving units… So, making an RTS-game is possible, but very hard work. But I think it will always be hard, equal what game engine you are working with. If you are a beginner, I would recommend to do some easier projects first.![]()
anything is possibly with Unity.
unity is multipurpose!
yeah, you can see some forum posts about people making “stradgey” games
unity is multipurpose!
Yup, I’m actually making a software with Unity lol. A map editor to be more precise, although it is pain in the ass with the poor unity’s GUI system ![]()
I wish UT made some sort of Visual c#-lookalike software editor that can be integrated with the game engine and it’s editor lol
Even HTML could make a strategy game. ![]()
edit : and I’m sure even Microsoft Word could make a strategy game, with a skilled dev. ^^
in short, the only limit is you.
