can unity used for create software (no games)?

hi, there is any software created with unity [no games], or i need other engine?

For UI intensive applications (i.e. business apps that rely on user data input forms) or web components (that need to be lightweight and load fast) I still can’t recommend Unity.
But yes, there’re many interesting scenarios for Unity that are not gaming related like science, data and architecture visualization, engineering and health.

That’s a very open question - there many factors to consider the proper tool from app platform requirements to personal preferences and skills.
VS may be the choice for desktop based Windows UI style apps. If you opt for mobile, then there’re frameworks like PhoneGap or Appcelerator that helps you create Android and iOS compatible apps. For the web the spectrum of tools grows exponentially! Is it for an intranet or public access? You could check Vaadin (easy to code, server based app), Spring based JAVA web applications (good balance) or a JavaScript framework (fast UI response) that you feel easier to acquire for you. There’re simply too many.
