I’m trying to figure out way to do real world VR world exploration.
I’m just thinking out my head now, let me know if any of these is possible/feasible.
Is it possible to do some form of procedural generation that will generate real world locations. Say Harvard?
Is it possible to use Google Earth data as 3d assets so that you can explore them in VR?
Is it possible to import into Unity 3d maps created via 3D mapping drones / 360 video
Is it possible to use Google Earth data and procedurally generate real world locations based off it?
The last two I really wanna know, because if I wanted to create a VR app where you explore the Smithsonian, sure I could probably painstakingly model it in DCC software (Blender, 3ds Max), but what if I could just feed Unity real world data on the Smithsonian from (Google Earth VR, 3D mapping), and then it procedurally generates a replica.
Or maybe Google Earth 3D assets would be good enough on their own? Idk? What do yall think?
