Cannot delete production APK on Windows 7

Hello,

I have built an APK intended for upload to Google Play Store. I need to make a modification and rebuild the APK, but I cannot delete the old APK from my system.
When trying to, Windows 7 gives me the standard warning that I need admin privileges. I click continue, and it then tells me that I need permissions by the computer’s administrator to make changes to the file. I can’t even rename it or do anything with it.

I had this problem previously and don’t remember how I fixed it. This doesn’t happen with development build APKs.

To me that happens when a file is locked by another application, that it’s using it somehow.
Like if i send an email attachment via Live Mail (yes! there i said it! I’m still using it…) it’ll keep the file attached locked and won’t let me delete it till i close the application.

You’re right, that must have been it. The file is now magically gone, and I assume it’s because I have since closed the web browser. I had already uploaded the file to the Google Play Store, so when the browser was still open it probably had the file locked like you said.

Thank you!
